Content Editor

Most AI editors help you write. DraftLift’s editor helps you not sound like AI. Built on TipTap, a professional-grade rich text editor, with layers of writing intelligence on top. Generated content lands here for refinement — with anti-slop detection, readability scoring, and AI editing suggestions working together to catch what the generation missed.

Rich text editing

The editor supports standard formatting:
  • Bold, italic, and underline text
  • Hyperlinks
  • Inline editing with real-time preview
Content progresses through tracked states — generated, edited, and finalized — so you always know where a piece stands in your workflow.

Anti-slop highlighting

This is the editor’s primary value. Highlighted patterns appear directly in your text. Hover over a highlight to see:
  • What triggered it — The specific pattern detected (e.g., “AI vocabulary crutch: ‘leverage’”)
  • Severity level — Critical, warning, or style signal
  • Improvement suggestion — A concrete recommendation for fixing the issue
The anti-slop system catches the patterns that make readers’ eyes glaze over — the phrases, structures, and habits that mark content as machine-generated. See The Anti-Slop Philosophy for the full breakdown.

Readability scoring

A live sidebar displays metrics that update in real time as you edit:
MetricWhat it measures
Flesch-Kincaid Grade LevelReading difficulty as a U.S. school grade level
Flesch Reading Ease0-100 score — higher means easier to read
Word countTotal words in the content
Character countTotal characters (useful for platform limits)
Reading timeEstimated time to read
Avg. words per sentenceSentence complexity indicator
Paragraph countContent structure overview
Aim for a Flesch-Kincaid grade level appropriate to your audience. LinkedIn posts and blog content typically perform best at a grade 6-9 reading level — clear and accessible without being simplistic.
See Readability Scoring for scoring methodology and platform-specific targets.

AI editing suggestions

Request AI-powered editing suggestions organized by category:
  • Structure — Improve the flow and organization
  • Voice — Make the writing sound more like you
  • Hooks — Strengthen openings to grab attention
  • Calls-to-action — Improve closers and engagement prompts
  • Readability — Simplify complex passages
Each suggestion includes a priority level, a rationale, and a before-and-after example. You choose which suggestions to apply — the editor never overwrites your work automatically.
AI Editing Guidelines (Business+ tier) let you define custom editing rules that the AI applies automatically.

Section highlighting

For premium tiers, the editor identifies and labels specific sections — hook, body, CTA. This structural awareness helps you evaluate whether each section is doing its job.

Content conversion

Once you’re happy with a piece, use the conversion sidebar to pour it into new vessels. The system analyzes your source content against target vessel constraints and suggests how many outputs to generate. A 5,000-character blog post might yield:
  • 3 LinkedIn posts
  • 5 X posts
  • 2 email newsletter sections
Each conversion adapts to the target platform’s format, length, and conventions while preserving your core message.
